Preparing
for Settlement
Settlement or closing can be a stressful situation.
You may have encountered some of the stress
of your transaction already. To help reduce
the stress the day of settlement be as prepared
as possible, we have compiled a check list of
things that are commonly needed at settlement.
The more prepared and more informed people are
when they get to the settlement table, the more
relaxed and enjoyable the experience. Read over
the information and if you still have questions,
please give us a call and we will try to help
you.
Your real estate transaction should be a pleasant
experience. Involve your title insurance agent
as soon as possible in the transaction. Any
problems or special situations can be addressed
and not delay your settlement.
Bring
with you:
-
A government issued ID and along with one
other form of identification
Examples: driver's license, passport, company
picture ID
- Certified
funds in the amount needed.
- Proof
of Homeowner's Insurance: paid receipt and
declaration page.
- Any
outstanding conditions from your lender.
Examples: tax returns, copy of last paycheck
- Bills
or receipts for items being paid at
settlement.
Examples: credit cards, home inspectors,
electricians, plumbers
